Resolved

At 1:38am MST on Aug. 29th, Pluto systems became unavailable due to the root domain, pluto.bio, domain name becoming expired. After we discovered the system to be unreachable, we investigated the issue and renewed the domain. Pluto systems were back online around 7:49am MST. The delay was due to the TTL of 6 hours set and required propagation to internet services before the DNS could resolve properly.

We have taken the following steps to ensure this failure does not happen again:

* Renewed the domain, updated the email address on file, and added a backup credit card
* Added application status check to alert us to issues in the future
* Added a status page for Pluto available both at status.pluto.bio and pluto.statuspage.io
